Washington (dbTechno) – According to U.S. Senator Charles Grassley, the pharmaceutical company Wyeth paid to have positive articles written about their drugs in medical journals.<\/p>\n
Sen. Grassley is a Republican from Iowa and has been probing into this case for quite some time.<\/p>\n
He started by looking into a medical writing company known as DesignWrite.<\/p>\n
The company was asked to reveal information on payments that they received from articles on certain drugs such as Prempro.<\/p>\n
According to the latest reports from The New York Times, Sen. Grassley has found that Wyeth set up ghost writers to do positive articles on their Prempro drug.<\/p>\n
This is scary because it means that scientific journals and such could actually be manipulated.<\/p>\n
This could cause doctors to prescribe drugs to patients based on false information.<\/p>\n
They had the ghost writers work on the articles, then paid for scientists to put their names on the journals.<\/p>\n
